Congratulations! You got the job of office manager. Now it’s time to take a couple of days to ease into your new role. If you’re the kind of person who can keep everything organized while multitasking you’ve landed yourself the perfect job.
The first couple of days is the perfect time to get acquainted with your new environment, especially if you are new at the company. Take the time to get to know the company, the different units or departments and what they all do, make sure you understand how they are all related to your job.
As office manager you will be responsible for a whole lot of things, in fact, you are the one responsible to make sure that the office and everyone in it runs on track. That’s rather a tall order for one person. But, don’t worry, you’ve got it!
While you’re familiarizing yourself with the office one of the most important tasks of a new office manager is getting to know the people. So, introduce yourself to everyone, find out what their roles in the company are and learn a little about them as people, because you will be working with each and every one of them.
Don’t forget to speak to HR and find out what training programs they have in place for new employees, so you can learn even more about your new workplace.
